VOLUNTEERS – sign up in 2-hour blocks (show up 10min. early to get a quick instruction) 1:30-3:30pm, 3-5pm, 5-7pm, & 6-8pm.
Get Involved! Volunteers tighten a myriad of the nuts and bolts that keep the market machine running at the speed of life. Our vendors are busy producing – so we help them spread the word about their great products through social media and blogs. We organize entertainment and educational demos. We put things in place for a great market day. Join us; we can use the help, enjoy the company, and love what we do.
Greeter/Scorekeeper – This job is fundamental to our record keeping and also is a great way to improve the market by getting to know our guests. We collect a few core numbers to track and report our impact on the community. This information helps us on our journey to complete our vision to be a positive force for local agriculture and business. There might also be promotional material to offer guests or quick surveys. Also any additional comments from the guests can be logged on the back of your record sheet.
Fresh Food for All Peoples – A major part of our function is to bring farm fresh produce, quality grocery, and a community connection to our underprivileged neighbors. In part we propel this function by offering incentive programs based around the bridge card (the modern form of food stamps). We offer four food assistance programs including accepting bridge cards. This involves having volunteers available to run cards and offer wooden tokens as a counting mechanism for the Bridge Card money recipients choose to spend at the market. This involves recording each transaction and having enough knowledge of the programs offered at the market in order to help guests get the most out of their experience at the market.
Stage Assistants – Set the stage for a great atmosphere on market day. Facilitate signage so customers know what we and our vendors have to offer. Help the manager get the market site ready for operation, or cleaned up for the Roadhouse. This might also involve distributing or collecting data to and from the vendors. Times differ for this particular job description.
